I’m not happy with this so far –the face looks very wrong also she looks pregnant :S
Development
Painted in Corel Painter x - source from http://gilliann.deviantart.com/art/Vampire-Maharet-Stock-141640317 – still working on it – will post the final version on my deviant art account soon :)
…I have been mostly awake since around 2am, this is not good and i’m pretty tired now. Sadly this also means i’ve done no real work on my painting today – I did start a new one earlier – but i’m not happy with it and will have to work on it. I did manage to read the whole of a JSA graphic novel – which was pretty cool – especially as it mentions Kingdom Come and has paintings by Alex Ross (possibly my “all time favourite artist”) in it.
for the sakes of keeping it graphical – have a silly picture of health and safety gone mad :D
My friend David (http://www.coolsurface.com) gave me some advice on the face – which i happily accepted :) i think the left side of chest looks wrong – going to fix that next.
acrylics on canvas 30x40 cm’s
Over the last couple of tutorials we have been gently introducing ourselves to vectors, firstly adding the lines then some colour. Today we are going to work on details J
Step 1.
Firstly download the psd file from http://rev-jesse-c-stock.deviantart.com/art/vector-art-tutorial-139160627 and open it in Photoshop.
Step 2
Now we are going to zoom in on the pants and add some shading, if we compare the original picture to the new one we can see where the darker areas are.
Step 3
Choose a darker shade of pink for the shadows – I will be using #d78cad. In the layer pallet choose the pants Layer and below the spots Layer (Which we previously clipped to the pants layer – see last tutorial) make a new Layer (Layer > New > Layer) called shading.
Step 4
Using the pen tool start to fill in the parts of the picture we previously highlighted; use the picture below as reference.
Step 5
Do the same for the ribbon and the bra.
Step 6
If we now hide the lines by clicking on the eye in the Layer Palette next the lines Layer you will be able to see the bikini in its full vector goodness J
Next week we will look into filling out the rest of her.

Putting down some colours – roughly 1 hour into it
bit of sketching and painting with corel painter x – to be honest i dont like it that much and find there is a hell of a lot of lag on the brushed when you paint.
