Wednesday....life in the fast lane....!

wine_bottle_by_rev_Jesse_C

I was quite pleased with the above painting till i posted in on b3ta.com - not the most complements I'd ever received - still you live and learn.

On Sunday Harvey managed to burn out the motor on the hoover - the sucking pipe works okay - but the main bit doesnt.  I've managed to rig together the long pipe from the old hoover and the pipe from the new one together - looks a bit like a Frankenstein creation - but works okay! will try and get a new one soon - but I don't think there is a great rush.  I also need a new DVD player - my one died a couple of weeks ago.

See me after class.....

Its parents evening tomorrow - this should be fun.  I just love bring talked down to and made to feel like an idiot.  Why is it that teachers always make you feel inferior - like you know nothing...I managed to pass infant school thank you very much! :D  I'm probably as qualified as her (okay granted I haven't got a PGCE)

Rose

Rose_and_silk_by_rev_Jesse_C

Today has been very odd - Why?  Well Claire went (under instruction) to Chichester with her mum - she also took Harvey and Darcie with her.  Its been pretty quiet and strange - I watched Lost and had some dinner (which is a rare thing for me).  I also tried to do some painting - I'll return to that in a bit - but first I thought I'd update my blog.

I've been thinking about this teacher training thing a lot over the past few days - its obviously a big thing and probably would change the rest of my life.  Of course having more money would be a God send.  I hate being so broke all the time.  But I really would like to try and sell some pictures and live the artists lifestyle.  I saw some lovely places on TV last night in Italy - really an artists paradise.  But having no money puts a stop to that idea.

As for painting  - I sometimes sit down and start to paint - and it looks good - i like this pic for example - but other pics just don't seem to work for me.  I tried to paint Darcie this morning and it just looks nothing like her.  Maybe I should try it as a cubism :D  Also the brush strokes seem to soft....

Lamp post

Lamp Post

The lamp post, near the land of Spare Oom, where eternal summer reigns around the bright city of War Drobe :) Yes I've been reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Okay i'm a big fan of Dr Who and really looked forward to Torchwood - but series 2 like series 1 is turning out to be a very slow, drawn out, dull disappointment.  So here in a nutshell is my 5 word review of series 2 so far.....

To teach or not to teach

brown hair nudeA few days ago I was reading a thread on B3ta.com about teacher training.  Its something I thought about before - a few years ago - but with moving and everything it seemed to just be pushed to one side.

I read that you now get £9,000 to learn to teach and a £2,500 golden hello when you start to work, plus you can get a £1,500 grant.  it is very tempting - my only problems would be what to teach and it'd mean leaving Claire at home to look after Harvey when I'm not around.  I know Claire could cope - but I don't feel its very fair of me to do this. Harvey could go to Nursery for a couple of mornings a week and from January he gets 5 free sessions a week anyway.

It's tough, as for the course I'd love to do Art or Design and Technology,  but as my degree is in Computing I'm guessing it'd have to be ITC. Which wouldn't be a terrible thing - but my passion is art.  Plus I'd have to get on a course,  i'm not sure how to apply or where I should go... Yes life is complicated...
